Description

After a brief introduction on the Akragantine cuisine of 2,500 years ago, tasting a selection of appetizers made from ancient Sicilian grains, sauces from the Greeks of Sicily and local wines, you will travel through time, not only with your mind but also with your palate, savoring the same aromas of what was once an opulent city, rich in vineyards and olive trees, famous for the hospitality of its inhabitants.

The activity includes the presentation of recipes and tasting based on archeo-food and typical products.

Expert's presentation

The Phoenicians Cultural Association - "Archeo Cuisine" Cultural Project:

We are specialists in the Study of the history, culture and practical life of antiquity, with special emphasis on religion, clothing and traditional gastronomy of the Mediterranean area.

Our association's Guided Tours are conducted by licensed Tourist Guides.

We offer Guided Tours to archaeological sites enriching the exhibition with the narration of the ancient Phoenician, Punic and Sicilian gastronomy of Greek heritage.
For those who wish to savor the ancient recipes, we offer by reservation tasting experiences based on our  "archeo menu" with ancient recipes related to the historical-archaeological context of the area.

When conditions allow, you will see us in traditional costume!
