Rocca Calascio sunset trekking excursion - Il Bosso Environmental Education Center
Starting from the beautiful village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio, climbing the panoramic ridge overlooking the Valley and passing the church of Madonna della Pietà, we reach the Rocca di Calascio, the highest stronghold in the entire Apennines (1460 m), a unique scenery protagonist of numerous films and a place of the heart for many.
From here it is possible to glimpse a unique and unrepeatable panorama from the highest peaks of the Gran Sasso to the Plain of Campo Imperatore and then from Majella to the Morrone Massif to Sirente and Velino.
Minimum age: 11 years and older
Dogs allowed: on leash
Mandatory to bring mask, sanitizing/disinfecting gel or wipes, gloves and special bag to store used wipes or gloves
The tour includes qualified and certified tour leaders.

- Medium difficulty hiking on mixed ridge and dirt mountain trail
- Recommended clothing: hiking footwear (no running shoes or similar) and appropriate socks, layered clothing possibly breathable, long-sleeved jersey (fleece or microfleece), hat, wind and rain jacket, backpack with full water bottle, trekking poles (recommended), headlamps
