Description

The island of Gallinara is a beautiful naturalistic area in the Ligurian Sea, which owes its unique name to the large population of wild hens that populated it in ancient times, as documented by some Roman historians.

Her precious unspoiled natural environment, combined with great historical and cultural value makes it unique!

Since the Middle Ages, in fact, a Columbian and later Benedictine monastery was built there, then gradually the island was abandoned, only to be occupied by the Germans and then liberated at the end of World War II.
Until last decade there was an inhabitant-guardian, while today it is completely uninhabited.
