Expert's presentation

The Azienda Agricola  Giovanni Sordo is located in the heart of the well-known Barolo region, in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto -- just a few kilometers from Alba, in the province of Cuneo.

It is a family-run winery, now in the capable hands of Giorgio - Giovanni's son - the third generation of a family that has been curating and producing wines for more than a century.

The estate vineyards - a compact limestone marl - are rich in micronutrients that - together with the unique microclimate of the Langhe - create a perfect environment for growing Nebbiolo. It is a vigorous and difficult grape that can yield surprising wines with powerful aromas and great aging potential.

All of our proposals include a guided tour of the historic cellars founded in 1912: a tour that will allow you to discover the entire production cycle of all the wines, from the vinification to the halls with the large Slavonian oak barrels used for aging, to the evocative "infernot" 12 meters deep. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to taste the great wines of the Langhe in the panoramic halls of the new winery, built in 2014, the result of a modern architectural project strongly desired by Giorgio Sordo, the third generation of the family.
