Description
The city of Monreale located on a plateau, is famous all over the world and in 2015 UNESCO also recognized its artistic and architectural importance.
Its famous Cathedral is one of the places of cultural and historical interest of the site called "Arab-Norman Palermo and the Cathedrals of Cefalù and Monreale".

Detailed programme
During the tour, the following places of interest will be visited:
- The Cathedral is part of the Unesco Arab-Norman Heritage, it is a perfect synthesis of Islamic, Norman and Byzantine culture. Located on the slopes of Mount Caputo, the cathedral, was commissioned by William around 1174.
- The mosaic of Christ Pantocrator and the open book with the words of John: "I am the light of the world."
- Benedictine Cloister, you will feel as if you have been catapulted into the Alhambra, place of meditation and refreshment for the Benedictine monks from Cava dei Tirreni. It is perfectly square and groups 228 small columns topped by capitals carved with biblical motifs, birds and animals.
- The Capuchin Catacombs, could prove a food for thought on the transience of life on earth, a reflection on life as a passing moment. It is estimated that there are about 8,000 bodies divided into categories and age groups, including that of little Rosalia Lombardo.
