Guided tour Castle of Baia, Piscine Mirabilis, Roman Amphitheater
Description
Through the guided tour you will discover some of Campania's jewels including:
- The Castle of Baia: built in Roman times, it stands on a promontory of strategic importance. After construction with the addition of walls it became virtually impregnable.
- The Piscine Mirabilis, a Roman archaeological monument that was built in the Augustan age to accumulate impressive reserves of drinking water.
- Anphitheater of Pozzuoli, one of two existing Roman amphitheaters in Pozzuoli dating from the second half of the 1st century AD. It was built to cope with population growth, which had rendered the old building, used for public performances in the Republican era, unsuitable.
