Gradara Castle Guided Tour
You will be welcomed by a licensed Tourist Guide who will expertly explain the highlights of the tour route, among the narrow streets of the citadel, located on a hill inside a double wall, from where you can admire suggestive views of the Riviera Romagnola and Montefeltro.
In the castle of Gradara, now a state museum, you can visit as many as 14 rooms all furnished with antique furniture and works of art, including the St. Sophia altarpiece by Giovanni Santi and a terracotta by Andrea Della Robbia. Among the various rooms the most significant ones should be mentioned those decorated with frescoes some attributed to the Bolognese painter Amico Aspertini such as Lucrezia Borgia's dressing room, the Passion room and the Council room, the Putti room to the painter Girolamo Marchesi but the most striking room is undoubtedly Francesca's bedroom, in which the story of Paolo and Francesca that Dante immortalized in the Fifth Canto of the Inferno is told.
WARNING: Should anti Covid-19 regulations require the closure of museum centers, the guided tour takes place inside the Borgo and outside the facility.
