Guided Mountain Bike Excursion - Otranto
The route, designed to be crossed safely , will give you a unique experience in direct contact with nature and the Salento landscape.
Going up the Idro valley, you will visit an ancient Byzantine script, and then stop at the "le Costantine" Foundation where the art of traditional weaving is practiced.
We will then cross the "megalithic garden" of Giurdignano, dotted with Dolmen and Menhirs.
Tasting lunch at one of the province's best bakeries in Specchia Gallone.
In the early afternoon we will reach Porto Badisco.
Return to Otranto around sunset, driving along one of the most beautiful stretches of littoral, with a visit to the lighthouse of punta Palascìa and the bauxite lake.
The package includes:
- Bicycle rental and safety equipment (helmets, bags, fanny packs, repair kit);
- Map of the route;
- Accompaniment by a specialized guide, also in languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese)
- Admission to museums and sites of historical archaeological interest (where provided);
- A tasting of typical products / cheeses / wine (where provided);
- Assurance liability insurance.
Daily excursion within the Salento area with stops at points of historical, naturalistic and eno-gastronomic interest.
The network of secondary roads, sheltered from the large vehicular traffic, will allow a slow and relaxed pace and, in any case, appropriate to the needs of the group.
The distances chosen are within the reach of anyone, even the least trained, children 8/10 years and older will be able to use their own bicycle, younger children will be provided with a child seat to be placed on the back of their parents' or guides' bicycle.
