The flavours of Lunigiana
A day immersed in the heart of Lunigiana between tastings, visits, lunch and snack.
No particular type of clothing is required
At about 9.00 a.m. your tourist guide will take you to the heart of Lunigiana, in Filattiera, to visit a 16th century mill that still produces chestnut flour with the same methods and machinery of the time. A short, but dutiful, visit to the Pieve di Sorano and then continue in the direction of Mocrone: here we are at the home of Graziella, the last, heroic craftswoman who still persists in producing with the ancient cast iron "testi" the prince food of this territory, His Majesty the "Testarolo". The time for a short and exciting taste and we leave to visit Bagnone, a beautiful and romantic market town. Lunch will make us discover the bastard lasagne, the herb cakes, the lamb of Zeri and much more, in an apotheosis of taste sollucchero. In the afternoon (to digest) we visit the Ethnographic Museum of Villafranca, discovering the tools and customs of folk tradition before enjoying a tasting of local wines or a snack of stimulating goat and sheep cheeses.
A day to discover authentic and simple flavours, far from the noise and rhythms of modernity, in the world of real slow food and slow live. Substantial and unexpected foods, cooked or produced with ancient systems and unchanged for centuries, enjoyed in the environment that originated them, a papillary ecstasy between millenary woods and rural history.
