Entrance to Palazzo D'Avalos without a guide
Since 2016, it can finally be visited with a tour route from the large garden to the spacious vaulted rooms and halls, where the important architecture is still visible, but also the atmosphere of the prison, especially in the visit to the rooms to the left of the entrance, once the royal apartment.
Following the staircase to the main floor, one reaches the upper loggia, invaded by light: on this floor the prison remains behind and one can visit the large hall where Cardinal Innico d'Avalos received up to 30 bishops in one of the "synods" he wanted.
In the last room, in addition to extraordinary views and perspectives of the landscape, at one of the windows is the work of internationally renowned artist Alfredo Pirri.
