Description

On the main floor, on a hexagonal hall, are the splendid four Matrimonial Rooms (each dedicated to a Salento man of letters: Girolamo Comi, Giulio Cesare Vanini, Vittorio Bodini, Luigi Corvaglia).

They are all different from each other in furnishings, have star-shaped ceilings and overlook a circular terrace that looks out over the sea.

An endowment with all the best comforts (heating and air conditioning with thermostatic control, direct telephone, wi-fi Internet, small herbal tea room, library) allows one to rediscover in a warm and welcoming environment the comforts of an elegant hotel room, with, in addition, the privacy and freedom offered by a stay that frees itself of the rituals of hotel life and preserves only its convenience: from daily cleaning to breakfast served at the time you prefer.

Description of the structure

Situated on the Santa Maria di Leuca seafront, a 2-minute walk from the sea, Villa La Meridiana is housed in a 19th-century building, and offers free access to the outdoor pool and private beach of the Hotel Terminal. The beach (equipped with deckchairs, sunbeds and umbrellas) is right in front of the villa, across the promenade: it is guarded by an ancient "bagnarola," a sort of changing room (in the same colors as the villa) that communicates directly with the sea and was used by the ladies of the house to put on their bathing suits and enter the water away from prying eyes.

A small dovecote in the villa's ochre yellow and Pompeian red colors, on the other hand, serves as a backdrop to the swimming pool, surrounded by eclectic "fin de siècle" villas.

The historic mansion offers a  equipment with all the best comforts (heating and air conditioning with thermostatic control, direct telephone, wi-fi, small herbal tea room, library), allows you to find in a warm and welcoming environment the comforts of an elegant hotel room, with, in addition, the privacy and freedom offered by a stay that is free of the rituals of hotel life and retains only the convenience: from daily cleaning to breakfast served at the time you prefer.

The Villa La Meridiana is just a 5-minute drive from the Leuca lighthouse and its famous sanctuary.

Presentation

Historic mansion of rare beauty, it has an apartment (dedicated to Lecce grace tenor Tito Schipa) that overlooks the private garden (with a four-poster bed and star vaults, a living room with wrought-iron sofas and a sitting area for those who want to read a book from the small library) and four rooms on the main floor (each dedicated to a Salento man of letters) that open onto a hexagonal hall: they are all different from each other in furnishings, have star-shaped ceilings, and overlook a circular terrace overlooking the sea. Here and there a few pieces of modern art.

On the main floor there are also halls with splendid mosaic floors (where you can chat with other guests of the house) that reproduce varieties of Salento fruits (some now endangered): from figs to pomegranate, from medlar to "uva pizzutella".

A buen retiro that enchants, whose luxury lies in being in the few,  a vacation against the trend because Villa La Meridiana has no TV in the room (to truly disconnect from everything and everyone.), it does not flaunt minimal-chic furnishings, nor high period antiques. In the rooms, in the lounges, you can feel the passage of the people who have passed through the house, and of that house even the passing guest feels a part.

Situated on the seafront of Santa Maria di Leuca, it enjoys a breathtaking view: the garden, the spa, the quiet, the view of the harbor, the atmosphere of other times, the courtesy and kindness of the staff are the added value of Villa La meridiana.
