Detailed programme

It will be the monumental olive trees of the Monopoli countryside that will show us "the right way" among ancient Marian aedicules, dry stone walls and fortified Masserie.
among these we will visit Masseria Conghia, in the district of the same name, with its imposing walls and sentry boxes essential for the defense of the precious gold of Puglia prey in the past of hostile peoples arriving from the nearby sea.

We will walk further to Masseria Mammella another jewel set on the slopes of the Murgia where, in addition to the masserizio body, we will admire a marvelous underground oil mill dug into the rock, among the largest and most well-preserved in Puglia, where the toil and sweat of men and women of the past still hover.

On the way back, we will visit a place where more than two thousand different species of plants, from all over the world, coexist in perfect harmony. They look at each other, intertwine and bloom together. It is the "Lama degli Ulivi" Botanical Garden, located within the Capitanio Stefano Nursery. A place where geographical distances are cancelled and time appears as if suspended, just like in the rock church of Santa Cecilia that we will visit going back to the time of Basilian monks.
