We are in the veritable historic center of Bari, the so-called "Bari Vecchia," which has gained new momentum thanks to the major public campaign of rehabilitation and enhancement it has been undergoing for some years.
A map of the city and information on museums, exhibitions, events and shows that enliven the beating heart of Bari are at your disposal at the facility.
A stay in the B&B Corte Zeuli is a guarantee of comfort and family hospitality in a charming period building. Thanks to its unique location and the helpfulness of Paola and Claudio, it also offers the opportunity to discover little known corners of the Old Town of Bari and to come into contact with its people, with the traditions of the place, with the genuineness of the products and the spontaneity of the relationships that a globalized society risks to erase.
Historical background:
The first news found about the Zeuli Palace dates back to 1598, the year in which the city of Bari had the first cadastre compiled in which the property owned by the families, then called fuochi, was valued in ounces. At the end of the 1700s the palace was purchased, along with six other adjoining ones, by the Zeuli family, originally from Faenza and later moved to Naples in the extra-sedile nobility. The Zeuli entrusted the restoration of the purchased palaces to Polignano engineer Giuseppe Gimma, author of the construction project and subsequent subdivision of Bari's new suburb and who would later be nicknamed the "father of the Murattiano." Important is the decoration of the ceilings as well as the execution of the frescoes, which, also from the point of view of pictorial style, appear to date from the Renaissance period.
