Detailed programme

We would like to experience the grape harvest with you in a unique way and share this celebration, experience firsthand grape picking, experience de-stemming, crushing and 'tasting the fresh must.

This beautiful journey takes us to learn about the attentions of the vintners, explore the microclimate of these hills; stroll through the rows of the Frederick II vineyard, pick the grapes in the special wicker baskets, detach the berries from the bunches and squeeze them in the small press makes us experience firsthand this engaging experience that culminates in the tasting of the organic grape juice you produce.

During peak production periods (usually August and September) you can book a foot press in the ancient zinc vat and experience how harvesting was once done. We linger in the atrium of the baglio to learn about some of the tools of rural life, arrive in the winemaking area of the cellar to taste a wine straight from the vat; together we will discover all the secrets of maceration and fermentation of the musts. Passing through the bottling area we reach the aging room for red wines among barrels and barriques. Here a red wine tasting awaits us, which you can tap directly from the barrique. In the garden veranda or in the tasting room of the winery we will prepare a tasty brunch with five Sicilian specialties including local cheeses, tasty salami, vegetables from our garden, homemade bread with extra virgin olive oil, delicious citrus jellies, organic honey. All enriched by the tasting of two wines that denote the strong link with the territory: a versatile, fresh and savory white wine typical of the hilly territory and a red wine of character with a fruity bouquet.

We are happy to welcome you to our Bio farm and put all the green spaces at your disposal: the vast lawn, the small Mediterranean garden dedicated to aromatic plants, the avenue of ancient olive trees, the organic citrus grove, the animal area

Expert's presentation

My name is Finella: I am a mother of 4 children, wife of a winemaker and entrepreneur in the world of wine and gastronomy.

I studied and worked in Sicily between Palermo, Marsala and had some study and work experiences abroad; but the passion for my land prevailed and, together with my husband we decided to bet on the family farm.

I had a dream: to create a place  of relaxation in the middle of the countryside, where you can breathe family air, taste genuine dishes, enjoy good wines, and be in contact with animals and Mother Nature. In 2012, believing strongly in the educational and therapeutic approach of the countryside, I began to transform the family vineyard and olive grove into a "teaching" classroom and created the first Educational Farm in the area. A year later I accidentally approached the wonderful world of bees and since then I became so passionate that I created an apiary, became a beekeeper and raise 7 families of bees;  I welcome guests from all over to share this growing passion. But taking care of endangered insects was not enough for me and I ask for a fostering of a little donkey from Pantelleria to the Region of Sicily: "Quercia" arrives on the farm and from there I buy more donkeys; seeing my guests (big and small) happy to spend time on the farm leads me to take horses, chickens, rabbits, baby goats and other docile and tame animals.

But the other great passion, that for the land, the vineyards leads me to build the winery  and produce authentic wines that are an expression of our territory. We make a vineyard in the hills for carriage rides, complete a tasting room among barrels and barriques . For 10 years I have been cultivating this dream and I see it come true day by day and I would like to share it with you!
