Description

It is not a canyoning or canyoning activity but a river trekking, a walking exploration of the Gordana Stream; therefore, it is also suitable for people with no experience in rivers and children.

The only requirement is to know how to swim.

The hike starts from the small village of Cavezzana Gordana from where, walking along a path and part of the stream bed for about 20 minutes, we will reach the entrance of the canyon.

We will explore the Narrows by walking in and out of the water and swimming through some crystal clear pools, surrounded by nature and among impressive gorges and multicolored walls over 20 meters high.

Information

Suitable for children 6 years and older.

Swimming skills essential.

Expert's presentation

The Giaredo Straits, on the border between the municipalities of Pontremoli and Zeri, are spectacular canyons carved into the rock by the swirling waters of the Gordana stream.

A place still far from mass tourism and unspoiled in which stone, water, light, and nature create a truly unique and evocative whole.

It is possible to ascend the Straits of Giaredo by walking and swimming to the dam above.

The difficulty of the trail varies depending on the season and the amount of water present: usually this hike is recommended for healthy people who can swim and, in any case, in the summer season.
