Description

"Safari," in the Kiswaili language literally means "journey" and that's it.
It is we Europeans who give this word a valence of adventurous travel in the savannah and on the coast washed by the Indian Ocean.
Our trip is inspired by this concept and we are able to offer not only safety and comfort at the highest level in a land with an extraordinary climate, but also the strong emotions and suggestions that Kenya can offer.

Information

4x4 adventure safari in the Tsavo savannah
and on the coast bathed by the Indian Ocean
The "Africa Sickness" exists, it really exists, it is not a literary invention.
This exclusive trip, will introduce you to the true meaning of "Africa sickness"
which can be breathed to the full in the Tsavo savannah and on the beaches washed by the Indian Ocean.

DAY 2
Upon arrival on Sunday morning, two equipped 4x4 off-road vehicles (Toyota Land Cruiser) will be waiting for guests to transfer to Malindi (about 2.20 hours, on the excellent paved B8 coastal road), which is 116 km from Mombasa. Drivers are fluent in Italian and English.
Welcome cocktail and accommodation in villa resort in Malindi, with private beach, swimming pool and located close to the town center.
Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.

DAY 3 - Monday, November 11
The entire day, to be enjoyed at leisure, is completely devoted to short local excursions (Marine Park, Wood Mer-cato; local market, Karen Blixen Square, Crocodile Farm, Watamu, Fishermen's Beach, Pradao Cross, StarDust and Casino (after dinner).
Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.

DAY 4
Early in the morning, after breakfast, we will transfer to the savannah for our exclusive African safari, aboard our two fully equipped Toyota Land Cruisers, with Maasai drivers and guide. The first destination is the immense Tsavo East park, reached via the Sala Gate's C103 track (120 km from Malindi) in red earth although after a recent start of "African" asphalt. After lunch and/or some (guided) river walks we will take an interesting ride to Galana Ranch, the big-five sanctuary on the left bank of the Galana River. Sunset and appetizer on the legendary and famous Lion Hill. We will have dinner and sleep at the Camp overlooking the river and with small pool. Overnight and evening tour with the lighthouse at the Camp and around the "ngoa" the ever-present African hearth where the concept that "you don't know Africa unless you spend at least one night in the savannah" is made concrete!

DAY 5
Entry into Tsavo (21,812 sq. km, almost the size of the entire Lombardy region) through the Sala Gate. Long savannah safari. Lunch, relaxation and observation from the high ground of Aruba Lodge, via track C103 along the right bank of the Galana River. Afternoon tea, sunset, dinner and overnight stay at the Lodge, typically Kenyan, offers a beautiful pool and rooms on the great cliff face from which one overlooks the savannah-and the large waterhole where all the large African mammals water-for dozens of kilometers.

DAY 6
From the Lodge to Sala Gate, via the inner track. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Camp.

DAY 7
After breakfast, early in the morning, second tour to Galana Ranch, but via the inner track on the right bank of the Galana River. Lunch at Camp and return to Malindi in the afternoon. Dinner, post-safari relaxation and overnight stay at the resort.
In a concise review of the great safari, we will have on the odometer over 450 kilometers traveled on the main red earth tracks of the Tsavo, though without counting the short 4x4 "off-tracks" (impossible with the tourist minibuses) to follow the most interesting animals and discover the most striking corners of the savannah.

DAY 8
Excursion to Watamu for a day entirely dedicated to the Indian Ocean. In Watamu, with the famous emerged reef rocks that make this place the most beautiful spot on the entire Kenyan coast, we will be able to eat lobster and shrimp in the famous "Sardinia 2," a tongue of very white sand emerged and surrounded by the Indian Ocean, and go on a real "blue safari," using the boats of local fishermen. The fishing trip (optional) is done with a crew of 3 members (captain + 2 mates) and can accommodate a maximum of 3 fishermen per fishing boat. Those not interested in big-game in Watamu can take advantage of a local guide who will take us to Sokoke Forest, a haven for birdlife and birdwatchers. On the return to Malindi, a must-do afternoon visit to the ruins of Gede, an ancient Arab city now a UNESCO-recognized National Park Dinner and overnight stay at the Resort.

DAY 9
Excursion to the "Devil's Kitchen" at Kipini or Marafa. This is a huge natural crater that opens in the bush and is surrounded by huge pineapple plantations that are cut ad hoc and offered to the visitor in every season of the year. Considering that this place offers strong colors in the afternoon as the sun sets, we generally anticipate the visit by passing by Che Chale, the famous "golden beach" where a small and exclusive local restaurant, literally on the beach, offers tasty seafood dishes. Nothing better after a swim in the Ocean and/or the flight of windswept kites. Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.
We will also be able to reach the mouth of the Tana River, in Kipini, the realm of the Howler Eagles who wait on the highest branches for our boat to pass.

DAY 10
This last day is dedicated to Malindi. About 100,000 inhabitants throughout the county; far fewer in the township. Shopping, greetings, market, small shopping, Nakumatt, beach and more, aboard our vehicles and/or with the legendary TucTucs. Including a visit to the local tribe's village. At the end of the visit, we transfer to Mombaa for the return flight.

DAY 11
Arrival in mattianta at Milan airport and farewell. Until the next Adventure!
