Guided E-mtb excursion Decauville - Rochemolles Dam
Suitable for everyone, from families to experienced bikers looking for recreation and relaxation, this guided tour is practicable in almost all seasons of the year.
Bicycling fluently between two valleys on old disused railway lines, old paths, military roads, we reach beautiful sceneries that on a bicycle amplify the essence of being inside nature.
The activity takes place at high altitude with the possibility of encountering local wildlife or grazing flocks.
It is available either in the morning or afternoon by indicating preference when making a reservation.
Total duration: about 4 hours
Activity available in the morning (9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) or afternoon (2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.).
The activity includes:
- meet up in Statute Square in Bardonecchia
- transfer by car/van (by the organization) to the starting point Bacini Fregiusia
- check and last set-ups of bikes if necessary
- briefing on the route and the conduct to be kept during the activity
Decaouville takes its name from the old narrow-gauge railway system built in the 20th century for the Rochemolles Dam construction site, a key part of the project to electrify the rail line connecting with France through the Frejus tunnel.
Positive elevation: 150 M approx.
Trail length: about 25-30 km
Effective cycling time: about 3 hours
Required helmet, water, suitable clothing for high altitude tours k-way, possibly some snacks.
Any variants on the route back to the cars will be evaluated together with the client based on the undisputed evaluations of the guide.
