Excursion to Torre Colimena and the pink flamingo trail
The activity takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
After receiving the necessary information for the tour, you will walk along the path of the old salt marsh, and with any luck ,you will be able to see the pink flamingos stop.
You will continue on the path that leads to the Torre Colimena basin to visit the Conte marshes.
The trail has a length of 7 km of beaten earth and sand.
We recommend wearing hiking shoes, long pants.
It is also advisable to bring along:
- binoculars
- insect repellent
- rucksack with water, snacks.

Naturalistic excursion on the beach of Torre Colimena, in the old salt mine of the Monks ,in the regional nature reserve along the coast of the upper Salento Ionian.
The old salt marsh of Torre Colimena, known as the salt marsh of the Monks of Bevagna, is a nesting site of the Black-winged Stilt, as well as a staging area for numerous species of protected avian fauna, including pink flamingos.
The hike continues to the Conte marshes, a wetland area characterized by beautiful dunes and junipers, marsh reeds surrounded by Mediterranean scrub.
